This exhibition brings together the work of Bram Vanderbeke and Wendy Andreu, two European designers united by a deep fascination for material exploration. Both approach making as a form of research, pushing the physical limits of concrete, textiles, metal, and composites. Their practices blur the boundaries between design, sculpture, and architecture, creating objects that shape and redefine space. Vanderbeke’s monumental, raw structures and Andreu’s soft-yet-rigid textile forms each reveal a poetic materiality that celebrates texture, gesture, and process.
Beyond function, their pieces generate atmospheres — micro-architectures and enveloping volumes that invite new ways of inhabiting space. Rooted in sustainability and contextual sensitivity, their work embodies a contemporary vision of cross-disciplinary, experimental design, demonstrating how materials can become a language for imagining new spatial experiences.
For this exhibition, the designers present newly created collaborative works in which their practices converge and expand one another. These pieces are shown alongside individual works from each designer, offering a broader view of the dialogues and contrasts that underpin their collaboration.
